Chair
Bio
I qualified as a registered nurse in 2007, starting my nursing career in Queen Alexanders’ Royal Army Nursing Corp. After leaving the armed forces I went to work in the NHS on a neuroscience ward.
I relocated to Norfolk in 2011 and went to work as a Deputy Matron of a nursing home and really found a passion for working in Social care and dementia care, supporting the home to become an accredited butterfly home. I then progressed onto management roles in care homes within Norfolk and Waveney.
During my first role as a home manager, I supported a home that had encountered compliance issues for the previous 7 years and was able to support the team in achieving CQC Good in all areas. My highlight of this role was my team nominating me for a Norfolk Care Award 2020 for Motivational Leadership, which I was delighted to win on the night.
Following this role, I went on to work for an independent home in Norwich, during my time here I was lucky enough to be able to participate in the Teaching and Learning in Care Homes project, this project really reignited my passion to show case the dedication and innovation of social care nursing.
I was able to support my nursing team to win the Norfolk Care Award 2022 for Nursing in Social Care and to come highly commended in Delivering excellence through learning and development and Collaboration in Care.
I am very passionate about supporting those I work alongside to achieve their potential through guidance and showcasing the wonderful social care workers I have the privilege to work with and learn from on a daily basis.
I was recently appointed the ICB chair for Norfolk and Waveney Nursing Advisory Council as I wanted to seek out opportunities to be part of the positive change for Norfolk and Waveney Health and Social Care
