Vivaldi Social Care
Vivaldi Social Care is a national research programme helping care homes use data to better understand and manage infection risks, while improving the quality and safety of care. Working in partnership with the NHS, researchers, UK Health Security Agency, and trusted digital suppliers, the study securely links everyday care data to generate practical insights that support real decision making.
Today, the focus is on making participation simple, safe, and valuable for care providers. Care homes can take part by allowing approved data to be shared securely through existing digital systems, with no extra workload for staff. No new systems. No complex processes. Just better use of data already being collected.
The study works with established digital partners to integrate smoothly with care planning software, ensuring data flows are automated, secure, and fully compliant with data protection standards. Information is de-identified and handled responsibly at every stage.
Dashboards developed by UK Health Security Agency allow participating organisations to view their own data and compare it with regional and national averages, turning data into clear, actionable insight.
Participation is straightforward. Sign up. Connect your system. Data flows securely. Insights are generated. It’s really that simple.
Being part of Vivaldi also supports care providers in demonstrating good practice to Care Quality Commission, offering robust, data-driven evidence for inspections and quality assurance.
Simple to join. Secure by design. Built for care.

Our mission is to improve the quality of life for people living, visiting, and working in care homes, while also reducing the risk of infections and avoiding hospital admissions. We endeavour to achieve this through the VIVALDI study that utilises existing data, with minimal input required from care home providers.
