As part of International Nurses Day 2026, we were proud to celebrate the remarkable contribution of nurses working across adult social care. Through a series of heartfelt video messages and short clips, colleagues, leaders, partners, and communities came together to share one simple but powerful message: thank you.
This special event was a celebration of the compassion, expertise, leadership, and dedication shown every day by nurses across the social care sector. It provided an opportunity to recognise the vital role adult social care nursing played in supporting people, families, and communities, while also looking ahead to the future of the profession.
The event featured an engaging panel discussion chaired by The Outstanding Society, alongside Professor Deborah Sturdy, Chief Nurse for Adult Social Care. Together, speakers explored what outstanding adult social care nursing looked like today, the strengths within the profession, and the opportunities to continue building a confident and skilled workforce for the future.
Attendees also heard from the co-chairs of SCNAC, who shared insights into their current work, priorities, and ambitions for advancing adult social care nursing.
Throughout the event, we celebrated innovation, highlighted best practice, and recognised the incredible people driving positive change across the sector. Most importantly, it was an opportunity to honour nurses for the exceptional care, leadership, and support they provided every single day.
This was more than a celebration — it was a moment to connect, reflect, and champion the future of adult social care nursing together.
