What the CQC Found
The inspection highlighted several areas of outstanding practice, including:
A clear and values-driven vision led by strong, compassionate leadership
Highly effective, person-centred care that supports people’s independence, dignity, and wellbeing
Staff who are knowledgeable, caring, and empowered to continuously improve practice
Positive feedback from residents and families, who described feeling safe, listened to, and well supported
The report recognised how Glentworth House has embedded learning, reflection, and collaboration into everyday practice, creating a culture where people and staff alike can thrive.
Partnership Working and Co-Production
A key factor in Glentworth House’s success has been its commitment to partnership working and co-production. This approach has helped drive meaningful improvements in both care quality and outcomes for residents.
Paul Cartwright, Registered Manager of Glentworth House, shared:
The partnership with Vivaldi and the Co-Production Collective has had a significant positive impact on the home. Notably, infection rates and the risk of falls have reduced considerably, and residents’ overall health and wellbeing have improved. Participation in the study with Vivaldi and the Co-Production Collective also supported the achievement of an ‘Outstanding’ rating for ‘Effective’ and an overall ‘Outstanding’ rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
This collaborative approach demonstrates how listening, shared learning, and evidence-based practice can lead to tangible improvements and outstanding outcomes.
Inspiring Excellence Across the Sector
This Outstanding rating is not only a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone at Glentworth House, but also a powerful example for the wider Social Care sector. It shows what is possible when strong leadership, inclusive practice, partnership working, and a relentless focus on people’s wellbeing come together.
We congratulate the entire team at Glentworth House on this well-deserved achievement and look forward to seeing their continued impact — inspiring excellence and sharing best practice across the sector.
