VIVALDI Social Care

The partnership with Vivaldi and the Co-Production Collective has had a significant positive impact on the home.Notably, infection rates and the risk of falls have reduced considerably, and residents’ overall health and well-being have improved.Participation in the study with Vivaldi and the Co-Production Collective also supported the achievement of an ‘Outstanding’ rating for ‘Effective’ and an overall ‘Outstanding rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Our mission is to improve the quality of life for people living, visiting, and working in care homes, while also reducing the risk of infections and avoiding hospital admissions. We endeavour to achieve this through the VIVALDI study that utilises existing data, with minimal input required from care home providers.
Infections like flu, urine infections, diarrhoea and vomiting are really common in older adults in care homes and often cause severe illness requiring hospital treatment.
Outbreaks of infections like the flu spread rapidly, often leading care homes to close and preventing residents from seeing their relatives.
The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted why we need better evidence and new ways to protect people who live and work in care homes from infection.
This study aims to reduce the impact of infection and outbreaks in care homes. We plan to do this by measuring the extent of infection and its consequences in residents and by doing research to find new, better ways to prevent infections and protect residents and staff.

Camascope is proud to support VIVALDI Social Care and evidence-based improvements in social care. By leveraging Camascope's nationwide medication management ecosystem, we contribute to VIVALDI's work in reducing infections and minimising outbreak risks. Ultimately, our goal is to safeguard the health, dignity, and quality of life of service users, supporting more resilient, person-centred care that puts their wellbeing first.

We are delighted to be partnering with VIVALDI and to be part of an initiative that supports decision-makers and the NHS in making better, more informed decisions around social care. This partnership represents an important milestone for our community of clients and the incredible people they support.
We are excited to work together to help strengthen and transform the future of social care.

VIVALDI represents a refreshing new perspective on social care research. One that is rooted in the direct experience of care and support providers and their communities.
As VIVALDI continues to develop, so do the skills of the participants to engage effectively with research questions. Which helps us develop a more detailed and comprehensive understanding of our communities.VIVALDI has already proven the impact of our efforts, with previous research including 50,000 people working in care homes and the residents of over 300 care homes developing much needed information about the impact of covid-19 on residential care. And VIVALDI is just getting started, with the enduring hope to eventually involve all care providers in this crucial care sector research! At Nourish we are proud of our involvement in VIVALDI and we remain very enthusiastic about future findings we can develop by working collaboratively with care providers across the UK."Sudha Regmi, Director of Data & AI, Nourish Care

At PCS, we're excited to be part of VIVALDI because it aligns with what we believe technology in care should do: turn everyday data into insights that strengthen practice, protect people and open the door to better outcomes across the sector. By teaming up with VIVALDI, we help our care home partners share their valuable data directly with researchers, knowing that the patterns uncovered today will shape smarter prevention tomorrow and eventually support breakthroughs in other areas of care. PCS proactively promotes this important work and all of us wholeheartedly endorse VIVALDI’s aims.
