As part of International Nurses Day 2026, we are proud to celebrate the remarkable contribution of nurses working across adult social care. Through a series of heartfelt video messages and short clips, colleagues, leaders, partners, and communities have come together to say one simple but powerful message: thank you.
This special event is a celebration of the compassion, expertise, leadership, and dedication shown every day by nurses across the social care sector. It is an opportunity to recognise the vital role adult social care nursing plays in supporting people, families, and communities, while also looking ahead to the future of the profession.
The event will feature an engaging panel discussion chaired by The Outstanding Society, alongside Professor Deborah Sturdy, Chief Nurse for Adult Social Care. Together, speakers will explore what outstanding adult social care nursing looks like today, the strengths within the profession, and the opportunities to continue building a confident and skilled workforce for the future.
Attendees will also hear from the co-chairs of SCNAC, who will share insights into their current work, priorities, and ambitions for advancing adult social care nursing.
Throughout the event, we will celebrate innovation, highlight best practice, and recognise the incredible people driving positive change across the sector. Most importantly, it will be a chance to honour nurses for the exceptional care, leadership, and support they provide every single day.
