THE CARE WORKERS’ CHARITY ANNOUNCE NEW SOCIAL CARE AMBASSADOR

The Care Workers’ Charity are thrilled to announce that we have a new fantastic famous face who
has joined us as a Social Care Ambassador for the Charity! We’re pleased to announce that Donald
Macaskill from Scottish Care will be supporting The Care Workers’ Charity, and our charitable
activities, in this capacity.
Dr Donald Macaskill CEO of Scottish Care – the representative body for care providers in the
independent sector in Scotland – has worked for many years in the health and social care sectors
across the United Kingdom. A particular professional focus has been issues related to bereavement,
palliative care and individual human rights. For thirteen years he ran his own equality and human
rights consultancy focusing on adult protection, risk and personalisation.
Donald says “I am really looking forward to working closely with the Care Workers Charity to spread
awareness of their work in Scotland. Never before has the work of the Charity in supporting frontline
care workers through its grants and mental health support been as important as it is now”
Our Executive Director Karolina Gerlich says:
“We are very excited and welcome this new support to The Care Workers’ Charity. Donald is a
hugely influential force in the Social Care sector of Scotland and Scottish Care’s support will have a
massive impact on our fundraising and our reach- ensuring we can support even more of our social
care heroes in crisis. We are proud and honoured to have them on board with us. I would like to
thank Donald for taking the time to support us- and I look forward to working with him!”
