The Care Workers’ Charity (CWC) was founded in 2009 with the objective of supporting current and former care workers with one-off crisis grants.
In 2020 we have raised £3.2million and paid out almost £2million in Covid-19 Emergency Fund grants and over £200k in Crisis Grants to over 3,000 care workers in need.

Throughout June – To coincide with the Jubilee bank holiday we are asking people to host their own bake sales. A bake sale is a great way to bring the community together while raising funds for The Care Workers’ Charity. Brownies, cookies, Rice Krispie treats, and cupcakes are historically popular with everyone, and you can also get creative and make cookie sandwiches, or some inventive cake toppers. Your imagination is the limit. Don’t forget those with dietary requirements – they love a sweet treat as well – so ask around and see if anyone is able to bake some vegan, gluten free or egg free treats!
8th July – Trek 25km in the Peak District to support the social care workforce. The trek starts off in the Hope Valley, walking from Castleton heading North and ascending to Hollins Cross to admire the views. Before dropping down to the lovely little Edale village. We then head across to the Ladybower Reservoir towards Thornhill. Then onto the village of Hope and back into Castleton where we celebrate with some fizz and our medals.
There is a registration fee of £30, we then ask all participants to raise £300 per person for this event. If you are trekking as part of a group all your fundraising can be done as a group. We will support your fundraising journey and inspire you with lots of tips and tricks to make it as easy and possible.
